Today our little boy is 1 month old! Actually he was supposed to be born
on this day.....but even it was a bit difficult start for him, we are glad we 'got'
this extra month with him.....oh how much I love this little guy.......my son....

a couple of months ago I made press photos for Blaudzun.
He send me some of his songs (for this cd) and I fell in love with it immediately.
It's really totally my kind of music! Yesterday I saw him live and also got his CD

A few days before I had my son we had a nice photo shoot in
a big music studio. I am very happy with the result. This is
one of the fotos we used for the flyer (which I also made)
and we chose a different photo for the DVD cover.

On friday, December 23d at 4 o'clock pm ...our son Jaykub was born.
Exactly a month earlier than we've expected him. After 10 days in the hospital,
we are finally at home and getting some rest. Well....different kind of rest it is.... :-)
It's unbelievable how much love you can feel....all the clichés about having
a baby are so so true.....so much love.....

Today I did a photoshoot with a very nice band. First part was in
an old library in Amsterdam....second part was in an old building
with some 'magical' props :-)...their music is magical....with modern
fairy tales and kind of bedroom stories.....like it very much!

I have a couple more great shoots before the big day......

this night I had a dream about our little boy....it was so so real that when I woke up
I was totally in love with him.....in the beginning I read this article about women
who dreamt about their unborn child and how it symbolically means the baby
introduces him/herself to you this way...it sounds like something really hippie
in my ears....but having this dream it's like I understand what they mean....
my love for him is stronger and stronger and I even realized that all this pain
which will come, doesn't really matter to me anymore.....I just want to hold him...
see him.....kiss him....cuddle him.....and see his daddy being a daddy..... <3 <3 <3

Krtek!

Yesterday, the 'inventor' of Krtek died at the age of 90....
I grew up with the stories of Krtek and liked it very much.

About 11 years ago, I was at the animation studios Barandov in Prague,
where I got to meet and interviewed o.a. Mr. Bretislav Pojar. One of the
best czech animators.
It was very nice being there, because all the childrens animated movies
I grew up with where made there. ( At that time they also animated
Miffy/Nijntje -the dutch pride- there as wel).

I hope my son will enjoy all these great czech animations as wel....
Well I know I am buying all those DVD's for sure! :-)

Nov 1st we picked up our (huge eh) RV van and our roadtrip from LA to San Francisco has begun.
Driving along the coastal route (highway 1) is the best way to do it and it's perfect....
Really excited about going to San Francisco, where we will stay for a couple of days and
than head back to LA where we stay for a week.

A friend of mine made me a ring as a symbol for our 'to-be-born-in-january" boy.
The big stone is a rough aquamarine gemstone, it's the birth stone of me, my love and
our boy's (if he gets born around the date as he is supposed to :-) ) ... inside there are
our names, the date 2012, a little heart and our other two birthstones....
so I will wear it after he is born, but sometines I already wear it for a second...secretly :-)

My mum has some really cool pictures of our family. My great-great-grandparents had a 'band'
in the early days. My great-grand-parents played there as wel. This is one of the photos
I really like. My great-great-grand parents are the first couple with the yellow star
(the violin and bass) and my great-grand-parents are the second couple (drums and trombone).

My mum also had an old record with a song on it, which was sung by my great-grandmother.
Explains my love for music! :-)

My <3 always buys me flowers at this really nice and exclusive flower shop.
It's exclusive because they have the weirdest and most beautiful flowers
I have ever seen. He always picks out the best and makes the weirdest combinations...
......always puts a smile on my face.........

Today I got these, and <3 also told me the shop is closing....What a pity!!!!
Think all these flowers I am getting doesn't really help with the business...

It's really a shame all these little shops have to close down....and the big ones
take over, with the worst stuff ever made....

while I'm preparing to have my baby....I was looking at my old baby
pictures....it's such a cliche, but having a baby is really wonderful.....
the feeling is so special, when he is moving and kicking.....each time
he does that we are so amazed there is a little person in me,
and I can spend hours just looking at my belly moving......
If I'm not sitting right, he kicks me, like he wants to tell me to sit straight
because that's more comfortable for him.......his favorite position
is right on my bladder.....it makes me go to the toilet all the time....
he wakes up, when we do.....and is sleeping at night...that's a good sign...

Yesterday was a pretty weird day....I got a message I've been waiting for for
the last two weeks....the bad/weird choices your parents made in the past.....
...a family secret........well,....I have a grown up sister...

It was something we ( me and my brother) always kind of 'knew' ... no one
ever told us for sure, but we kept looking for her....and there she was, on FB....
...the resemblance was there......and now we know for sure...

not only got I a sister, but also a little nephew, her son.....
....a lot of catching up to do...

I lie down on my back and <3 puts his hand on my belly

That's why I love Berlin so much.....because it reminds me of my childhood...
I didn't grew up in Berlin, neither did I visit Berlin as a kid, but Berlin
still 'breathes' the air of my past........still....nostalgia='ostalgia'....
In Prague, the feeling is as good as gone....it was 'destroyed' with the upcoming
'kapitalism' ..... the old smell is gone......but not in Berlin, it's still here....

we had this thought of moving to Berlin at one point.....maybe we will
for a year or so, but well the biggest dream is New York.........

It was my birthday yesterday and I spend it with people I really love.

As a present to myself I deleted my Twitter account. In the beginning I liked
the idea of sharing stuff, but unfortunately 98% of the sharing is just plain
bullshit and I am really not interested in what's on peoples mind, their
opinions, what they are doing, their exact position and how many
compliments they get.
So .... if I want to read someones opinion, that really matters,
I'll do that on a 'credible' blog or in a good paper/magazine... :-)

....in two weeks I'll be travelling to Cuba. So excited!
I was always dreaming about going to Cuba, since I was 7.
When I was 7, and living in Prague, our school organized
this exchange thing with some cuban students who came
to our school to talk about communism (hehe) & Cuba and
they sang did a national dance...that was for the first time
I saw a foreigner...and I was hooked...

our holiday to Ethiopia in february had to be cancelled...so
fingers crossed this one won't be ... :-)

Dazzled Kid cd artwork

The cd "Fire Needs Air" of Dazzled Kid is out now! I did the artwork and photography for it
and am very proud of it! Click on the picture to see it all in my portfolio!

The artwork is made of a lot of doodles...there is a black pencil in the jewelcase,
which you can use to doodle on the artwork yourself.... :-)

Krach cd, I did the design, illustrations and photography for, is in the stores now.
I am really happy with the result, and so are they, so that's great :-)

The idea is, the artwork is actually a jacket, Krach peoples are wearing on stage.
On the inside is a pocket which contains the booklet which is in the form of an old Playboy.
I 'remade' all the old advertisment from an old playboy with the guys and even made
a photo of a beautiful (almost) naked girl for the centerfold....
